The Importance of Human Connection

June 24, 2025

Human connection isn’t just good for business—it’s essential for building a life worth living. When Stags and I relocated, we were excited for a fresh start—but like any big move, there was some uncertainty. What we didn’t expect was just how warmly we’d be welcomed in, and how quickly this community would start to feel like home.

It all started with our realtor. What began as a transactional relationship quickly became a friendship. Before we knew it, we were over at his farm, meeting his wife, his kids, and even his parents. That one connection opened the door to countless others—and helped us plug into the heartbeat of our new town and feel like a part of the community.

We also made a point to show up. We attended local city hall meetings, introduced ourselves to neighbors and civic leaders, and even had the chance to meet the mayor. These small but intentional actions didn’t just help us understand the area—they helped others understand us.

Before long, we found that our reputation was preceding us. People were reaching out, inviting us to things, asking our input, and welcoming us with genuine interest.

It’s a powerful reminder: in any community—professional or personal—real connection fuels real impact. Show up, listen, be curious, and lead with warmth. You never know whose life you might enrich—or who might end up enriching yours.
